What I do know is obesity rates and diabetes and women with cardiovascular disease are on the rise (that's not good)...we need to spread the word and work together to make this world a healthier one. Not only will be working on our nutritional needs we will also be working on our mindset which is where we need to start. Life is a mental game, let's win this game!
I know losing my menopausal weight has given me back my self-confidence and makes me want to shout my secrets from the rooftops! I want to be here for my kids and grandkids and enjoy active time with them.
Many say fasting is hard and not good for you. But if you look back to our early ancestors' days that's what they did. They would feast and then go hunt for more food. Your body needs a break from food to keep your microbiome healthy. Switching between the fat burner and sugar burner system with ease is what are bodies are meant to do.
My husband and I have found that we actually save money on food by having our fasting days. It's easy to meal prep and saves you time during the week. If your spouse isn't on board, prep his meals when your prepping yours, then you don't have to cook on days when your fasting. But I hope your spouse is amazing like mine and embraces this lifestyle.
Changing your lifestyle before you hit perimenopause, or menopause will only make your pauses so much smoother. Wish I would have known these secrets before I hit mine. But changing your eating habits no matter what your age can only expand your life. I love knowing that I will be around for my kids for a long time.
Some say this fasting lifestyle is not sustainable. All excuses and lies. I have met women who have been fasting for 10-15 years. Once your systems are healed and on track you don't have to keep up the long fasts. My body stays at my goal weight with minor weight fluctuations. You can pick your length of fasts according to your schedule, so you won't be missing out at those fun parties or events you attend. Totally doable.
