Reiki 101
What is Reiki?
Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. "Rei" means spiritual wisdom and higher levels of consciousness. "Ki" (Qii, Chi) means life force energy. When an experience or placement (attunements) are received energy healers are able to tap into the life force energy. Energy healers don’t do the “work”, they are just here to let the energy flow through them. Your body is amazing at healing itself. You just need to slow down and take the time to relax and let it. Think of women having babies, or someone getting a cut, our bodies know what to do. Every day I am grateful for this amazing body and how it blesses me and takes care of me.
When receiving a session from me, it may be a hands on or hands off method. I usually do both. I work with the physical body as well as the mental, spiritual and emotional layers. Just booking a session is amazing as you are giving your body the gift of relaxation for one hour you can just rest. I do sound healing also, so you will have relaxing music playing and me using my Himalayan bowl and my other fun instruments for complete relaxation.
We will work on breathwork if needed for relaxation, discuss what you would like to see/feel healed, and discuss your experience afterwords.
I am a Holy Fire Practitioner.
Holy Fire Reiki is characterized by its focus on the healing power of love and light. It is believed to bring about profound healing on physical, emotional, and spiritual levels. Practitioners of Holy Fire Reiki are trained to channel this energy, which is said to be both powerful and gentle, for the purpose of self-healing as well as healing others.
I am very excited to be doing this work. I have had many spiritual awakenings and a huge sense of empowerment since learning this work. I am wiser, kinder and full of gratitude for everyone. This world is a better place with healers and holistic practitioners in it. I am proud to be one.
To me personally reiki is a healing energy that cleanses my body and mind. I feel the tension and trauma leave my body. I am in a fully relaxed place letting the energies do their work on my amazing body. Our systems all work together to keep us healthy, when one of these systems is off it can create chaos. Keeping all systems in good working order is a must for me. We have these wonderful chakra’s in our bodies that need to be open and functioning properly. (energy flowing). Here's a little bit about the chakras.

The seven chakras are the main energy centers of the body.
You've probably heard people talk about "unblocking" their chakras, which refers to the idea that when all of our chakras are open, energy can run through them freely, and harmony exists between the physical body, mind, and spirit.
Chakra translates to "wheel" in Sanskrit, and you can imagine them like wheels of free-flowing positive energy.
In yoga, chakras are used to describe the way energy “moves” throughout the body. Each of the seven chakras (described below) are said to correlate with different abilities, expressions, and types of health.

Root Chakra (Muladhara)
The root chakra, represents our foundation. On the human body, it sits at the base of the spine and gives us the feeling of being grounded.
When the root chakra is open, we feel confident in our ability to withstand challenges and stand on our own two feet. When it's blocked, we feel threatened, as if we're standing on unstable ground.
Sacral Chakra (Swadhisthana)
The sacral chakra, helps inform how we relate to our emotions and the emotions of others. It also governs creativity and sexual energy. Those with a blocked sacral chakra could feel a lack of control in their lives.
Solar plexus chakra (Manipura)
The third chakra, the solar plexus chakra, speaks to your ability to be confident and in control of your life. Think back to the last time you had butterflies or felt a pit in the stomach: That's the solar plexus chakra at work.
If your solar plexus chakra is blocked, you might feel overwhelming amounts of shame and self-doubt. Those with open sacral chakras are free to express their true selves.
Heart Chakra (Anahata)
The heart chakra, is the bridge between the lower chakras (associated with materiality) and the upper chakras (associated with spirituality). As the name suggests, this chakra can influence our ability to give and receive love—from others and ourselves.
Someone with a blocked heart chakra will have difficulty fully opening up to the people in their life. If someone's heart is open, they can experience deep compassion and empathy.
Throat Chakra (Vishuddha)
The throat chakra, gives voice to the heart chakra and controls our ability to communicate our personal power.
When it's functioning at full capacity, it allows us to express ourselves truly and clearly. Someone with a blocked throat chakra will feel like they have trouble finding the words to say how they truly feel.
Third-Eye Chakra (Ajna)
As we move up the body, we're getting closer to communion with the divine. The third-eye chakra, controls our ability to see the big picture and connect to intuition. Think of it as the eye of the soul: It registers information beyond the surface level.
Visions and intuitive hits are not uncommon for someone with an open third-eye chakra.
Crown Chakra (Sahasrara)
The crown chakra, the highest chakra, sits at the crown of the head and represents our ability to be fully connected spiritually. When you fully open your crown chakra—something very few people ever do you are able to access a higher consciousness.
As with any healing it may not happen immediately, it can happen weeks later. You need to relax and let your body do its thing.

When you surrender to the flow of reiki you step into a place of deep trust and openness. This is where true transformation begins free from the limits of control and pressure. Each session is a beautiful exchange, and even when the shifts are unseen, the energy always moves in alignment with the highest good.
